Each year at the MTIA Convention, all or one of these awards may be presented as deemed appropriate by the association officers

| President's Award: This award is the most prestigious award presented by the MTIA. This award recognizes one individual whose accomplishments for the past year were extraordinary and exceed those of all current and former MTI's. The President, in consultation with the BMT Superintendent, will make this selection. The achievements must be related to the training environment (basic or JROTC), advance the Military Training Instructor profession, or advance the profession of drill and ceremonies. This award will be presented at the MTIA Honors Banquet. |
| Special Achievement Award: This award will be presented to current or former MTI's who have achieved or performed significant acts within the past year. These achievements or acts must be related to the training environment (basic or JROTC), advance the Military Training Instructor profession, or advance the profession of drill and ceremonies. This award will be presented at the MTIA Honors Banquet. |

Recruiter of the Year: This award will be presented to a current or former MTI who recruits the most individuals for the MTIA. The period of determination will run from the end of the most recent convention until a period of approximately two weeks prior to the upcoming convention. This individual will be recognized at the MTIA Honors Banquet and will also have his or her membership extended one year at no cost. |
