MILITARY TRAINING INSTRUCTOR SCHOOL

The Military Training Instructor School has changed its name throughout the years. 

It was established in 1947 as the General Instructor School (GIS). 

Throughout the 60s and 70s it was referred to as the Instructor Training Branch (ITB).  

The name was changed to the Military Training Instructor School (MTIS) in 1980 by the commandant CMSgt Erlath Zuehl.

Although the name has changed throughout the years, the mission remains the same...turning excellent Airmen into outstanding instructors.
